How Sleepy’s & the NDIS Can Help You

October 16th, 2020

If you’re an NDIS participant, Sleepy’s can provide you with a range of products designed to improve your sleep quality and make your home environment more comfortable. We’ve been an NDIS provider since 2016 and are currently registered for the following categories:

  • Assistive Technology
  • Assistive Technology for Household Tasks.

Not sure if we’re the right service provider for your needs? Learn more about our most popular assistive technology products used by NDIS participants below.

Adjustable Bases

As the name suggests these bases are designed to raise your legs and feet, raise your head and shoulders or both. They have a feature called ‘zero gravity’ where no part of your body is bearing more weight than another. They also have the option of a built-in massage capacity if this is required. Adjustable bases maximise sleep enrichment and pain reduction. From acid reflux and heartburn to chronic back pain, a range of health issues can be exacerbated by sleeping on a flat surface. Being able to adjust your bed can help ease your discomfort by taking pressure off your joints, opening your airways, improving circulation and reducing swelling.

Sleepy’s also stocks mattresses with the required flexibility to cope with being adjusted. To ensure you choose the right mattress, we’ve added an adjustable icon symbol to all mattresses in our range compatible with adjustable bases.

Mattress Protectors

Mattress protectors take the hassle out of keeping your bed hygienic and clean. They’re designed to shield your mattress from dust mites, bacteria, allergens, and accidents, helping to lengthen its lifespan. If you’ve invested in a specific type of mattress to cater for a health condition, a mattress protector will ensure you protect your investment.

Most mattresses are made from dense materials such as foam or latex, which can make cleaning them a labour-intensive process. A mattress protector in either complete wrap around or top of bed acts as a barrier to stop any spills from soaking into the internal components of your mattress.

Pillow protectors can make your sleeping environment even more hygienic. Completely enclosing the pillow, these work similarly to mattress protectors, acting as a barrier to germs, dust mites and other nasties. If you suffer from allergies, a pillow protector can help reduce your symptoms.

The Sleepy’s Commitment

Sleepy’s has helped many participants with specific health issues get the best nights’ sleep possible. Our team provides the same level of care and concern to everyone, ensuring all our customers are fitted to a bed and mattress catering for their needs. We work closely with NDIS participants themselves, their carers, OTs, Support Coordinators and other health professionals.

Our Sleep Consultants are trained to recognise factors that could potentially hinder your sleep quality and will conduct a thorough needsanalysis for each individual customer. This helps you select the ideal mattress and bed frame from our range. All our mattresses are made in Australia, so you can be sure you’re supporting local businesses.

Check our customer reviews for yourself – we take great pride in the high level of customer satisfaction our team members provide.
