Counting Sheep and Selling Sleep

March 3rd, 2017

Sleep is the secret key to a healthy and happy life. But most people aren’t aware of this … yet.

It’s true. Many don’t realise the importance of a soothing slumber, but in reality it helps us to rest, recuperate and recover. In sleep, our bodies relax but our brains remain active, allowing the day’s events to drift away, just in time for a fresh morning start. Forty winks aren’t enough! The benefits of sleeping are underestimated and if experts sell gym memberships and spa treatments, they should sell the wonderful reality of sleep as well.

Hibernating for up to seven months at a time, bears are the snooze experts of the animal kingdom and we should take a leaf out of their book. Koalas and bats are also dedicated sleep advocates, napping for up to twenty hours per day. But man is the only mammal that willingly delays sleep. Why? It is just as important as diet and exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. We are not healthy unless our sleep is healthy.

Most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep every night. So we should take more steps to ensure sufficient hours of solid beauty sleep. One of the best actions to take is to pamper ourselves with a correctly fitted mattress, some comfortable pillows, and perhaps a fresh set of sheets. We spend a third of our lives sleeping, so we might as well enjoy it!

Mesut Barazany said “Your future depends on your dreams, so go to sleep.”

We can spend our whole lives simply dreaming about a lengthy snooze, but the fabulous truth is, it could only be a comfy bed away.

Sweet dreams!
