Sleepy’s Announces Partnership with Mates4Mates

February 20th, 2024

We’re excited to announce a partnership with Mates4Mates a leading Australian charity changing the lives of current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families to support ADF members’ health and wellbeing through a good night’s sleep.

Sleep plays an important role in the mental and physical health of ADF members. As part of our partnership, we will be sponsoring the Mates4Mates Online Sleep Program for 2024 to support ADF members in need of a better night’s sleep.

Sleep is our internal reset button. For ADF members, sleep can ease psychological symptoms, stabilise mood, reduce chronic conditions, improve their ability to cope with pain, and assist in the processing of emotionally charged memories via dreams.

Sleepy’s Chief Executive Officer, Shane Flynn praises the partnership as an opportunity to support the ADF community.

“As an organisation dedicated to supporting our current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members’ health and wellbeing, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Mates4Mates. Sleep is not just a necessity; it’s a crucial component of mental and physical wellness, particularly for ADF members. Through this sponsorship of the Mates4Mates Online Sleep Program, Sleepy’s is demonstrating its commitment to ensuring ADF members have access to the resources they need for restorative sleep and overall wellbeing. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our country.”

Mates4Mates Chief Executive Officer, Emma Whitehead has also welcomed the new partnership.

“Supporting the mental health of veterans and their families is one of our key priorities at Mates4Mates. The Online Sleep Program helps participants develop healthier sleeping behaviours and explore sleep from a physiological, psychological and practical perspective,” Emma said.

“Sleepy’s sponsorship will allow us to continue delivering skills-based clinical group programs to improve the health and wellbeing of veterans.”

The Online Sleep Program will run at various times throughout 2024, with the first program kicking off in February.

If you know a current or ex-serving ADF member who might be in need of this program, share this blog with them.
