5 Tips to Sleep Cool This Summer
December 15th, 2015
Too often we play the “covers on/covers off” game all night long; a recipe for a restless sleep. When we move into the heavy heat of summer, we often find ourselves waking up sweaty and unable to settle.
With these top 5 Sleepy’s tips, you will be on your way to having a fantastic sleep every night throughout this hot summer.
Tip 1. The foundation
If you or your partner sweat while you sleep you need to invest in a mattress that can reduce the heat away from your body, allowing you to have a good night sleep. We recommend our CAA tested and endorsed Sports Performance Collection. For best results, head to your local Sleepy’s store to be fitted to the mattress suited to you.
Tip 2. Sheets, sheets, sheets
Say goodbye to those silky goddess sheets, otherwise you will be sweating like you have just run a marathon. Invest in a lightweight cotton or linen sheet set. Cotton is breathable and doesn’t trap heat when you sleep. It promotes excellent ventilation allowing you to have a good night’s sleep.
Tip 3. Get low
Because hot air rises, it’s best to set up your bed as close to the ground as possible to beat the heat. If you live in a multi-floor house or apartment, try to sleep on the ground floor rather than upstairs.
Tip 4. Cool off
A cold shower is a great way to reduce body temperature quickly.
Tip 5. You can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep
Keep your eyes away from your bills and invest in air conditioning. Blast your air conditioning to let your bedroom cool down before you go to sleep. Have a fan turned on to keep the air circulating through the room.
Sleep Cool, Sleep Healthy!
