10 Sleep Tips from the Experts
February 11th, 2016
As Mattress Experts we have collected a few great tips on how to fall asleep and how to sleep well. See below for our top ten tips:
#1 Maintaining a regular evening routine can help you to fall asleep sooner.
#2 Sleep in a cool, quiet and dark room free from distractions.
#3 Regular exercise can help relieve the day’s tension – but not too close to bed time.
#4 Keep your biological clock in sync by going to bed at the same time each night.
#5 Make sleep a priority – say “yes” to sleep even when you are tempted to stay up late. You’ll thank yourself in the morning.
#6 Avoid stimulants, such as caffeine & sugary foods in the evening as they interfere with deep sleep.
#7 Your pillow can be the main cause of a restless night’s sleep, make sure you have one that is supportive and comfortable.
#8 Sleep on a mattress that caters to your sleeping needs and preferences (we can match you to the perfect mattress!).
#9 Avoid smoking. Smokers take longer to fall asleep, awaken more often and experience fragmented sleep.
#10 Unwind early in the evening. Try to deal with worries and distractions several hours before going to bed. Spoil yourself with a warm bath, massage or aromatherapy.
As Always, Sleep Healthy!
